Groups normally meet in the Parlour, a small meeting room in this town-centre pub and hotel that holds about ten people around a long table.

Important note: The Parlour will not be available from 5 January until the end of February 2026 as a side-effect of the major kitchen upgrade taking place at The Fox. There will be no food available either, but drinks are unaffected. If your group uses the Parlour make sure that you contact The Fox to organise an alternative space there, probably in the dining room. The gents' toilet is also closed during the refurbishment - unsurprisingly, as it's next to the kitchen - so men should now use the unisex/disabled toilet at the far end of the main bar (signposted).

IMPORTANT: If you use the Fox car park, make sure you enter your car registration into the machine by the corner of the bar, just inside the door. If you don't do this you'll receive a hefty fine.

The room is accessible from the main bar by one of two short staircases with handrails. Bar staff will bring tea, coffee etc. to the Parlour; just order at the bar on your way in.

Groups wishing to use this venue will need to make their own arrangements with the Fox to book the space - it is not booked via our u3a. The easiest way to do this is to go to the Fox and ask a member of the bar staff.

The room is is a popular venue. It is likely that the times of greatest availability will be when the bar is less busy, such as at 10 am, but staff will advise you.
